Great Rift Valley

It's less than 36 hours since I returned to Cairo from Vienna, and I'm already on another flight. This time I'm heading to Djibouti. I made my first trip to Djibouti last November but I slept the entire way, so I didn't notice the beautiful views from the plane. After layovers in Khartoum, Sudan, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the final leg of the trip is a flight directly over the Great Rift Valley, a continuous geographic trough that runs from Syria to Mozambique.
