Ubumi Bwesu

With two national holidays making a four-day weekend, we headed north to Ndola, the largest city in the Copperbelt region of Zambia. Ndola is home to Ubumi Bwesu, RZHRG's third site (the first and second being PSF in Kigali and ZEHRP in Lusaka, respectively). Ubumi Bwesu was founded in 2004 and is the smallest of the project's sites, but has still tested over 2,000 clients and provides services that include medical examinations, family planning services and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
Since we were staying in Ndola with a friend who works for the project there, we were able to take a tour of the site even though it was closed for the holiday.
The reception area of the project was very nice and professional (with a picture of the Zambian president, Levy Mwanawasa, front and center, of course).
The data was much smaller (but much more well-organized!) than what I'm used to in Kigali and Lusaka.
We peeked in the filing room, where all data collection forms and medical charts are stored.
