Family day at the embassy

The U.S. recently finished building a new embassy in Kigali, and yesterday, the marines who are stationed and live there hosted a family day. The event lasted all afternoon and was a included a true American cookout (hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, etc.), games (water balloon toss, tug-of-war, three-legged race, sack race, etc.) and a live band called 'Black Bluzungu'. It was a little strange to be around so many very-American things all at once, but it was really nice to spend the afternoon outside and we had a lot of fun.
