While at the market this weekend, I bought a huge woven basket that's about two and a half feet tall. In my head, it seemed like the perfect thing to use for a laundry basket. (Yes, I've been here over eight months and I'm just now buying a laundry basket; it wasn't exactly a high priority.) After buying the enormous basket (for 1,000 francs - less than two dollars), I felt like I'd seen the same basket before, but I couldn't remember where. After a few minutes, I remembered - these are the large baskets that men fill with live chickens and use to carry them through town or to the market.

Laundry or chickens?
