I can't actually remember the last time I went on a road trip, a true pack-up-the-car-and-drive-for-days-and-days road trip. But this week Egypt will celebrate the Eid al-Adha, an Islamic holiday that commemorates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God and God's provision of a ram in place of his son, which means there will be no work for the entire week. Rather than staying in Cairo for the festivities, I'm going to be taking advantage of the holiday with one of my coworkers. We leave tonight for a road trip through Israel!
