Old city walls

The walled area of Jerusalem that is considered the Old City is not the same area that has always been called Jerusalem. The current wall is not the original wall of the city; in Biblical times, the Old City was even smaller than it is today (today it is less than one square kilometer). Although the original walls are buried under the city, there is one space where you can see where a remaining portion of the old walls has been excavated.
