One organization that's doing a lot of good work for health in Kibera is Carolina for Kibera, based out of the University of North Carolina. Although I'm not usually a fan of UNC (GO TIGERS AND BLUE DEVILS!), I can't not support their work here. It's pretty incredible. Visit their website here.

I'm a southern girl with a little threadbare gypsy soul and a heart for social justice and equality, particularly health, housing and education. I currently live in Cairo, Egypt, where I work in infectious disease research, surveillance, outbreak investigation and capacity building in the region.
