One of our upcoming projects is a hospital-based disease surveillance system for respiratory disease, diarrhea, acute febrile illness, acute infectious neurological disease and tuberculosis in the Damanhour district of Egypt. Damanhour is a district in northern Egypt, about an hour from Alexandria, with a population of about 5,000,000 people.
This week we have a delegation of six representatives from the CDC visiting our office. As part of their visit, we arranged a two-day trip to Damanhour to visit the hospitals and field sites there where we will be working on this enormous surveillance project.
